Brian Yoshikawa: Just another reminder as I know a lot of the Maui fishermen lurk this website. The number of fish catch reports for the guys that have fished these fads do not equal the number of reports filed. Wespac sees this as either fishermen apathy, or that the buoys are not important or being productive, and we all know that is not the truth. This will be my last post on this blog about this lack of participation by the fishermen who are fishing these fads, but if these Kahului fads go away in the future, and are not replaced don't sit around and bitch about how good they used to be. Layne and I both know who has filed reports, and we both thank these fishermen for doing the only thing Wespac is asking in return from the fishermen. For those that do fish it, we know who you are, and please don't be the biggest whiners should this program come to an end. (12/2/11, 10:19PM)
Brian Yoshikawa: Thanks for posting this. FYI, we need the fishermen using these fads to be aware that Wespac would like to see community compliance in filling out a monthly fish catch report specific to these two buoys. We know who is fishing them, we also know who hasn't been filing their reports so please get the word out to the fishermen. Report forms are available at several fish venues,as well as at most tackle shops on Maui. Mahalo! (11/16/11, 3:38PM)
Armelio : Just as a reminder......the FAD has a two mile swing from the original point! (10/18/11, 12:55AM)
